Exclusive Box Office Report: Taapsee Pannu starrer Shabaash Mithu is another Dhaakad, historical disaster!

Mithali represented India for 2 decades, she captain the Indian team between 2004 and 2022.

After the popularity of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Bollywood is once again experiencing a dry spell. HIT: The First Case, starring Rajkummar Rao, and Shabaash Mithu, starring Taapsee Pannu, were two big movies that came out on July 15. Both movies fell flat with the audience, despite having a strong star cast and an engaging plot. They are currently having trouble breaking into the box office collections.

Taapsee Pannu’s Thappad was super hit just before the pandemic and then all the dynamics changed at the box office. Now, Shabaash Mithu which is a bigger costlier film for the actress failed to even reach 4 cr nett lifetime which is embarrassing for the actress and studio.

Shabaash Mithu collected a poor 45 lacs nett on day one and with limited growth it managed only 60 lacs nett on Saturday. The film managed a poor 75 lacs nett on Sunday. Even 100% growth could not take film anywhere with such a low opening day. This Taapsee starrer had a total of 1.80 cr nett over the weekend and film further dropped on Monday with 20 lacs nett number. It added more 35 lacs nett on weekdays in next three days.

The film has 1st week total of 2.35 cr nett and it will finish with a 2.50 cr nett lifetime number. This number is complete washout and as big as Kangana Ranaut starrer Dhaakad.

Day-wise collection of Shabaash Mithu:

Day Collection
Fri 0.45 cr
Sat 0.60 cr
Sun 0.75 cr
Mon 0.20 cr
Tues 0.15 cr
Wed 0.10 cr
Thurs 0.10 cr
Total 2.35 cr

Shabaash Mithu tells the story of the former Indian cricket team captain Mithali Raj who transforms the fortunes of women in the game of cricket. Mithali represented India for 2 decades, she captain the Indian team between 2004 and 2022.

On the work front, Taapsee also has Dunki coming up with Shah Rukh Khan. This will mark her first association with King Khan.
