On June 20, Shabaash Mithu’s trailer was released. The movie covers the journey of cricketer Mithali Raj, who is renowned for her record-breaking 23-year-long international cricket career. In ODI, she scored over 10,000 runs. Taapsee Pannu will be seen portraying Mithali in the film.
Well, biopics are in vogue these days in Bollywood and this is first big biopic of a female cricket icon played by Taapsee. It was supposed to be highly anticipated but it’s trailer has not created desired ripples.
The will release on 15th July but it will not score much on opening day and it should open below 1.50 cr nett. It will find it tough to score 7 cr nett weekend which is a big disappointment.
Also, it will be badly affected by clashing with Rajkumar Rao starrer South remake HIT and Thor might give both these films run for the money even in second week.
Overall, a very dull prospect and tough times for this film.
