Kapil Sharma made Bollywood debut with hit comedy ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyar Karoon’ which was directed by Abbas Mustan. After that he produced and acted in ‘Firangi’ and now his latest offbeat offering Nandita Das film ‘Zwigato’ tanked at box office.
Directed by acclaimed director Nandita Das, ‘Zwigato’ was never a box office prospect though main lead Kapil Sharma gave it visibility. But still there is nothing much happening for the film. Film is distributed by Viacom 18 and they released it in only 400 plus screens.
Despite glowing reviews, film opened to 5% occupancy in few cinemas and there was no improvement throughout the day. Film will collect close to 43 lacs nett on day one which is disaster even for this sort film of not so high budget.
Film needed minimum 150-200% jump but it hardly managed 35-40% growth . Film collected 62 lacs nett on day two. Film again grew marginally on Sunday and collected 79 lacs nett.
Film has total of 1.84 cr nett over weekend and it will finish with 3.5-4 cr nett lifetime. This is disaster number for any sort of film.
