Shang Chi opened to positive reviews and a 3 crore nett opening day at the Indian box office, which was the highest opening day total since cinemas reopened in India in July — including all Hindi movies.
It had a strong first weekend, grossing 10.6 cr. The film’s box office took a hit during the week, but it seemed to regain its footing on Friday. Despite fresh releases Thalaiivi and Seetimaar, the film saw an increase on Friday from Thursday.
The film has collected 1.43 and 1.75 cr on its second Saturday and Sunday maintaining steadiness at the box office. The total collection of the film now stands at 20.03 cr.
