EXCLUSIVE: The Kerala Story Has 10 Times More Tickets Sold For 2nd Friday Than First Day Of Vidyut Jamwal’s IB 71

The Kerala Story released last Friday and proved to be a surprise blockbuster with amazing opening of 8 cr nett and 80 cr nett in week one. Film is a rage in north and west India with tax free status boosting it further. On the other hand, Vidyut Jammwal starrer espionage thriller IB 71 is releasing tomorrow which is not carrying any buzz.

Advance Booking Numbers Of IB 71 And The Kerala Story In National Chains For 12th May

IB 71 will sell approx 4000 – 4500 tickets for Friday by today midnight which is a very poor number and even good spot bookings can not take it beyond maximum 2.5-3 cr nett number for day one.

Following are the advance bookings numbers in national chains for IB 71 for tomorrow day one Friday 12th May:

PVR + INOX + Cinepolis : 4,000 – 4,500 tickets

Following are the advance bookings numbers in national chains for The Kerala Story for day 8 2nd Friday 12th May:

PVR + INOX + Cinepolis : 36,000 – 40,000 tickets

So in short, The Kerala Story has sold 10 times more tickets for 2nd Friday than first day advances of IB 71.

The Kerala Story will collect in double digit on 2nd Friday and then it will cross 100 cr nett on 2nd Saturday. It should cross 140 cr nett in 2nd week and 175 cr nett is there for taking. More than that lifetime total depends on how film fares post release of Hollywood biggie Fast X.

About The Kerala Story:

The Adah Sharma-starrer The Kerala Story centers around alleged religious indoctrination in Kerala and how Hindu and Christian women are being targeted by radical Islamic clerics. The movie claims that these women were converted to Islam and later sent to countries like Afghanistan, Yemen and Syria “to fight for the cause of Islam”.

About IB 71:

Vidyut Jammwal is back with a spy thriller, but this time, he isn’t doing larger-than-life stunts. Instead he is part of a confidential mission, which is said to be behind India’s victory in the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Vidyut plays an Air Force officer, who plans to block the airspace to prevent an attack on India by Pakistan and China. The film also stars Anupam Kher and Vishal Jethwa in prominent roles. The plot summary of India’s ‘most confidential mission’ shown in IB 71, reads, “30 agents, 10 days, and 1 top secret mission that was hidden for 50 years! Witness this incredible true story that made us win the 1971 Indo-Pak war. IB 71 a patriotic spy thriller is an untold story based on true events where IB agent Dev Jammwal (Vidyut Jammwal) is on a top secret mission to save the nation.”
