Brad Pitt’s latest outing, F1 (Formula One), is witnessing an extraordinary hold at the Indian box office. The movie, directed by Joseph Kosinski, recorded a negligible drop on its fifth week, despite reduced screens.
F1 Continues To Add Numbers In 5th Week
The Brad Pitt-starrer opened with Rs 5.50 crore in India, becoming a rare standalone Hollywood movie to debut with a figure of Rs 5 crore or more in India. The last American film to do so was Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan.
F1 wrapped its 1st week on a strong figure of Rs 34.50 crore net at the Indian box office. Film added Rs 3.25 crore net to the tally on 2nd Friday and jumped on 2nd Saturday with 5.50 crore net number. Film added 8 crore net on 2nd Sunday. Film held solid on 2nd Monday with 2.50 crore net number. Film held solid on weekdays and collected 24.50 crore net in 2nd week.
Film added 1.75 crore net on 3rd Friday followed by 3 crore net on 3rd Saturday with good jump. It crossed 8.50 crore net over 3rd weekend. Film remained steady on weekdays and added 13.50 crore net in 3rd week.
Film collected 1.46 crore net on 4th Friday and then it again jumped by 65 percent to collect 2.67 crore net on 4th Saturday followed by 2.76 crore net on 4th Sunday. It crossed 6.89 crore net over 4th weekend and 10.85 crore over 4th week. Film added 4.25 crore net in 5th week despite reduced screens and competition from numerous new releases.
Film has fantastic total of 88.16 crore net (100 crore gross) after 35 days.
One must note that the movie has already achieved a Hit verdict in India. If it continues to perform well, the Brad Pitt-starrer has the potential to score over Rs 90 crore net by the end of its theatrical run in India.
