Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is showing no signs of slowing down. After a powerful second weekend, the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has climbed to Rs 443.25 crore gross in India in 12 days, underlining its extraordinary hold after a thunderous opening week. The film added Rs 27.25 crore on its second Sunday, capping a second weekend haul of a little over Rs 69 crore and reinforcing its status as one of Tamil cinema’s biggest theatrical events of 2026.
The sequel has now emerged as the second highest-grossing Kollywood film in India, with only 2.0 still ahead of it on the domestic chart. The latest jump is particularly significant because the film has held strongly despite opening at a massive level, a rare feat for a large-scale commercial entertainer.
Jailer 2 Maintains A Strong Second Weekend Hold
The day-wise run tells its own story. Jailer 2 opened with Rs 67.50 crore on Thursday, followed it up with Rs 42.25 crore on Friday, and then accelerated over the first weekend with Rs 52 crore on Saturday and Rs 61.50 crore on Sunday. Even through the weekdays, the film stayed formidable, collecting Rs 48.25 crore on Monday, Rs 52.50 crore on Tuesday, and Rs 31.50 crore on Wednesday.
Its second week began with Rs 18.50 crore on Thursday. The film then posted Rs 16 crore on second Friday, jumped to Rs 26 crore on second Saturday, and closed the weekend with Rs 27.25 crore on second Sunday. That takes the cumulative India gross to Rs 443.25 crore.
The territorial split remains equally impressive. Tamil Nadu leads with Rs 166.25 crore, while the film has also delivered huge business in the Telugu states with Rs 83 crore, Karnataka with Rs 78.25 crore, and Kerala with Rs 71 crore. The rest of India has contributed Rs 44.75 crore, taking the nationwide total to Rs 443.25 crore gross.

The box office story is not limited to India. Jailer 2 has already gone past 2.0 on the global chart and is now the biggest Kollywood film worldwide. Its worldwide gross has climbed to around Rs 690 crore, making this sequel one of the biggest Indian theatrical performers of the year.
The Hindi dubbed version has also added muscle to the overall run. Despite release limitations, it has earned Rs 33 crore nett in India so far and has contributed meaningfully to the film’s all-India momentum.
