Nayyi Navelli has hit a worrying patch at the box office just when it needed staying power most. After benefiting from the festive window in its opening week, Yami Gautam Dhar’s horror comedy has slowed dramatically in its second weekend, adding only Rs 2.40 crore and taking its 10-day India total to Rs 24.40 crore nett.
Second Weekend Fails To Lift The Film
The second weekend never gave the film the lift it needed. After closing its first week at Rs 22 crore nett, Nayyi Navelli managed only Rs 0.60 crore on Day 8, followed by Rs 0.90 crore on Day 9 and Rs 0.90 crore on Day 10.
The first-week run had shown better intent at the box office. The film opened with Rs 3.36 crore on Day 1, climbed to Rs 4 crore on Day 2 and Rs 4.54 crore on Day 3, before slipping to Rs 2.50 crore on Day 4. A Dussehra push brought in Rs 4.35 crore on Day 5, but the drop resumed with Rs 1.75 crore on Day 6 and Rs 1.50 crore on Day 7.
With the film still below the Rs 25 crore mark after 10 days, the run is now firmly headed toward a flop result.

Nayyi Navelli Cast, Director And Film Details
That underwhelming hold is especially striking given the film’s commercial packaging. Directed by Balaji Mohan, Nayyi Navelli is a Hindi horror comedy headlined by Yami Gautam Dhar, with Addinath Kothare, Aaditya Kulshreshth, and Sunita Rajwar in key roles. It released in theatres on October 16, 2026, aiming to tap into festive footfalls with a genre that usually carries crowd-pleasing potential.
The film blends supernatural comedy with family drama and places Yami at the centre of a spooky mainstream setup. On paper, it had enough going for it to sustain beyond the opening rush, which makes the week-two slide more disappointing for its theatrical prospects.
Yami Gautam Dhar’s Recent And Upcoming Work
For Yami Gautam Dhar, the weak performance of Nayyi Navelli stands out because it comes at a time when her project choices have kept her consistently visible. In the last few years, she has featured in titles such as Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga in 2023 and Dhoom Dhaam in 2025, while Article 370 also remained a major talking point in her recent run.
That is why Nayyi Navelli matters beyond a single weekend drop. It was one of her bigger genre-led theatrical plays in the current phase of her career, and its inability to hold after the holiday period makes this box office outcome more significant than an ordinary slowdown.
