Yash’s role in Ramayana just got bigger in a way that could have a real impact on the film’s box office journey in the South. The Kannada superstar, who plays Ravana and is also a producing partner on the ambitious mythological epic alongside Namit Malhotra, will now have Monster Mind Creations’ distribution wing handling the film’s Karnataka release.
Yash Takes Charge Of Karnataka Distribution
That development gives Ramayana a major local advantage in one of the country’s most important theatrical circuits. Karnataka has long been a crucial market for large scale event films, and Yash’s involvement through Monster Mind Creations strengthens the film’s regional rollout ahead of its theatrical launch. It also marks a notable expansion for Monster Mind Creations, which is now extending its footprint beyond production into distribution with one of Indian cinema’s most closely watched titles.
Ramayana’s Wider Distribution Plan
The Nitesh Tiwari directorial is being rolled out through a territory based distribution strategy across domestic and international markets. Sony Pictures is handling international distribution, while Dharma Productions is overseeing North India. Dil Raju has taken charge of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Think Studios is managing Tamil Nadu, and E4 Entertainment, headed by Mukesh Mehta, is overseeing Kerala.
The structure underlines the scale at which Ramayana is being positioned, with each major market assigned to an established distribution player ahead of release.
Cast, Scale And Release Timeline
Ramayana is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and backed by Prime Focus Studios along with Monster Mind Creations. The cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Conceived as a two-part cinematic retelling of the Indian epic, the film is mounted on a grand scale for theatrical viewing.
The first part is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026. The second chapter is planned for 2027, making the project one of the biggest multi-film undertakings currently in Indian cinema.
Yash’s Recent And Upcoming Work
For Yash, Ramayana arrives in a key phase of his career after the blockbuster success of K.G.F: Chapter 2 in 2022, the film that firmly expanded his reach beyond Kannada cinema and cemented his standing in the pan India space. Since then, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has remained one of his most closely watched upcoming projects, while Ramayana adds another giant event film to his line-up.
Now Ramayana places him at the centre of another major theatrical spectacle, this time in a role that combines performance, production, and distribution influence. With Ranbir Kapoor leading the film as Rama and Yash taking on Ravana while also shaping the business side in Karnataka, the project is emerging as one of the defining titles in his post K.G.F career.
