Kangana Ranaut’s Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata Ends Opening Week At Rs 5 Crore, Emerges A Major Flop

Kangana Ranaut’s bid for a theatrical turnaround has run into another box office wall. Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata closed its first week at just Rs 5 crore nett in India, a result that has sharply dimmed the film’s theatrical prospects and marked another setback in the actor’s recent big-screen run.

After an opening weekend of Rs 3.85 crore, the film added Rs 1.25 crore from Monday to Thursday, taking its seven-day total to Rs 5 – 5.25 crore nett. For a star-led release that arrived with visibility and political curiosity around it, the first-week number is far below the mark needed to build any meaningful momentum at cinemas.

Opening Week Numbers Seal The Verdict Early

The opening-week trend has made the verdict clear. Despite being declared tax-free in several states, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata did not convert that advantage into sustained footfalls, and its India finish now looks set to remain modest. That commercial outcome has arrived swiftly, with the film losing pace before it could establish a stable theatrical hold.

Released on June 12, 2026, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is a Hindi thriller directed by Manoj Tapadia and headlined by Kangana Ranaut alongside Girija Oak and Smita Tambe. Set against the backdrop of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, the film follows hospital workers at Cama Hospital as they protect and care for patients during the crisis. Whatever appreciation it may find later, that response has not translated into ticket sales in its first week.

The weak run also adds weight to the broader conversation around Ranaut’s box office stretch. A prior box office assessment noted, “Her last Clean Hit film was Tanu Weds Manu, which was released a decade ago.” The same assessment added, “The last film that did relatively better business was Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, which ended its run as an average grosser.” In that context, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata has done little to shift the narrative around her recent theatrical standing.

What This Means For Kangana Ranaut’s Career Run

Before Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, Kangana Ranaut starred in Emergency, which released in 2025 and saw her play Indira Gandhi, while also serving as director and producer on the film. Her 2023 releases included Chandramukhi 2, the Tamil horror comedy co-starring Raghava Lawrence, and Tejas, a Hindi action drama built around an Air Force officer. Taken together, those films reflect an ambitious but commercially uneven phase in her career.

As of June 2026, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata stands as her latest confirmed theatrical release. Search results also list Queen 2 and Circle among announced projects, but no confirmed release dates are attached to them at this point. That leaves her next career move under watch, especially after another subdued box office result.
