Haunted 3D Echoes Of The Past Emerges As A Surprise Hit, Closes First Week At Rs 14 Crore

At a time when theatrical wins for mid-range horror films can feel increasingly rare, Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past has delivered a comeback story that few had pencilled in this early. Vikram Bhatt’s latest release has quietly turned curiosity into cash registers, closing its first week at nearly Rs 14 crore nett in India and emerging as a genuine surprise hit in the process.

That number matters not just because of the total, but because of the way the film got there. Without the backing of a giant event-film launch, Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past used its opening weekend effectively, then held steady enough through the weekdays to stay firmly in the conversation. In a crowded release window, that kind of week-one pattern often signals real audience interest rather than a one-day spike.

Opening Week Momentum Keeps The Film Ahead Of Its Rivals

The film collected Rs 85 lakh on its second Thursday, registering a 15 per cent dip from the previous day and taking its seven-day total to Rs 14 crore nett, effectively Rs 14 crore. For a mid-budget supernatural drama, that is a strong opening-week result and a clear sign that the film has connected with its target audience.

Its daily trend shows why the performance stands out. The film opened at Rs 2.35 crore, rose to Rs 3 crore on day two, and then peaked at Rs 3.50 crore on day three. It followed that with Rs 1.50 crore, Rs 1.75 crore, Rs 1 crore, and Rs 85 lakh over the next four days. The weekday run was not spectacular, but it was stable enough to keep the title ahead of its immediate competition.

That advantage showed up clearly against Main Vaapas Aaunga, Governor, and Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, all of which trailed behind in the same frame. More importantly, the Rs 14 crore first week gives the film a solid base going into its second weekend, where even a decent hold could push it toward a comfortable theatrical run.

The Sequel’S Legacy And What The First Week Means

Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past is a 2026 Hindi supernatural horror film written and directed by Vikram Bhatt. The cast includes Mahaakshay Chakraborty, Chetna Pande, Gaurav Bajpai, Hemant Pandey, Shruti Prakash, and Praneet Bhatt. The film was produced by Anand Pandit, Javed Khan King, and Shwetambari Bhatt, with Mahesh Bhatt attached as presenter, and it released in theatres on June 12, 2026.

Positioned as a spiritual sequel to the 2011 film Haunted 3D, the new release appears to have benefited from both title recognition and genre loyalty. Its first-week total suggests that there is still a paying audience for familiar horror brands when they are packaged as theatrical experiences. In market terms, this opening week places the film in a healthy spot, giving it room to build beyond nostalgia and test whether sustained footfalls can turn a surprise start into a clear commercial success.
