Kung Fu Panda 4 Box Office Collection Day 8 (India): Hollywood’s Animation Franchise Holds Solid On 2nd Friday, Crosses Superb 21 Crore Nett

Kung Fu Panda 4 is directed by Mike Mitchell, who previously helmed fellow sequels such as Shrek Forever AfterAlvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. The movie is co-directed by Stephanie Stine, who recently complained about the many production difficulties that the project faced. Featuring the voice talents of returning actors Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, James Hong and Ian McShane, alongside newcomers Awkwafina, Ke Huy Kwan and Viola Davis, Kung Fu Panda 4 is playing in theaters.

Kung Fu Panda 4 Scores At Box Office

The wait is over, and Po is back! Kung Fu Panda 4 debuted in Indian theatres this week, and based on numbers, it seems the Dragon Warrior is still a box office favourite. Film opened good on day one and collected 2.50 crore nett all India. This was good considering limited marketing and clash with new Indian release.

On day two, film jumped big by 100% and crossed 5 crore on day two. Film crossed 6 crore nett on day 3. Film crossed 14 crore over weekend and it’s a decent total for the size and genre of the film.

Film maintained solid hold on weekdays. The American animated martial arts comedy film clawed its way to an estimated 19.15 crore nett collection in its first week, showcasing a promising start for its theatrical run in India.

Film grew on 2nd Friday and collected 2.50 crore nett. Film will jump over weekend and should cross 11 – 12 crore nett. Film is heading for 40 crore nett lifetime in India.

Day 3: 6.50 cr

Day 4: 1.50 cr

Day 5: 1.35 cr

Day 6: 1.20 cr

Day 7: 1.05 cr

1st Week Total: 19.15 crore nett

2nd Week:

Day 8: 2.50 cr

Total: 21.65 crore nett

Box Office History Of Kung Fu Panda Franchise

This marked the second-best domestic debut in the franchise’s history. By comparison, the first Kung Fu Panda opened to $60 million, and ended up grossing over $630 million worldwide in 2008. Released three years later, Kung Fu Panda 2 made over $660 million globally. Kung Fu Panda 3 was released in 2016, generating just over $520 million globally. Combined with the fourth film’s running global haul of $100 million, the Kung Fu Panda franchise’s total global box office is on the verge of passing the $2 billion mark.
