According to the latest trade update, Main Vaapas Aaunga collected Rs 5.50 crore nett on its second Sunday, up 20 per cent from Saturday and 110 per cent from its first Sunday. The film’s running total now stands at Rs 24.50 crore nett after 10 days in release.
The trade update added that the film managed this hold despite severe showcasing cuts, while several centres ran close to capacity over Saturday and Sunday. It added, “The film is now in a much better position than it was last Friday, when even Rs. 10 crore final seemed like a herculean task.” It further said, “Living up to its title, it seems like film vaapas aa gyi.”
The weekend pattern also stayed firmly upward, with the film moving from Rs 2 crore nett on second Friday to Rs 4.50 crore nett on second Saturday and Rs 5.50 crore nett on second Sunday.
