Nayyi Navelli Ends Week One At Rs 22 Crore As Yami Gautam’s Horror Comedy Slips After Dussehra

Dussehra gave Nayyi Navelli a brief lift, but not the hold it needed. Yami Gautam’s horror comedy wrapped up its first week at Rs 22 crore nett in India after slipping again once the holiday boost passed, leaving the film with limited room for recovery going into its second weekend.

The day-wise pattern tells the story clearly. Nayyi Navelli opened with Rs 3.36 crore, rose to Rs 4 crore on Day 2, and collected Rs 4.54 crore on Day 3 before dropping to Rs 2.50 crore on Day 4. The film then climbed to Rs 4.35 crore on Day 5 with the Dussehra push, only to fall to Rs 1.75 crore on Day 6 and Rs 1.50 crore on Day 7, taking the total to Rs 22 crore nett after seven days.

Week One Trend Raises Questions

For a Hindi horror comedy released in a festive corridor, the week-one total is underwhelming. The opening weekend gave the film a workable launchpad, but the post-holiday slide exposed weak weekday retention and reduced the chances of a healthy long run.

That makes the second weekend crucial. Once a film loses ground this quickly after a holiday-assisted spike, it needs a sharp turnaround in footfalls to stay in the race. At its current pace, Nayyi Navelli faces a difficult climb toward the Rs 30 crore nett mark.

Film Details And Theatrical Position

Nayyi Navelli is a 2026 Hindi-language comedy horror film directed by Balaji Mohan and written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma. The film was produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow Productions, and it marked Balaji Mohan’s Bollywood directorial debut. It released in theatres on October 16, 2026.

Built as a horror comedy with Yami Gautam in the lead, the film entered cinemas with a genre setup that has previously worked well with mainstream audiences. That made its festive release frame a valuable advantage, but the first-week trend has left it needing stronger support from the days ahead.

Yami Gautam’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Yami Gautam’s recent run has included the Netflix release Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga in 2023, the theatrical political drama Article 370 in 2024, and Dhoom Dhaam in 2025 with Pratik Gandhi. Nayyi Navelli added another female-led title to that streak, but unlike those headline-driven projects, this one now finds itself in a tighter theatrical spot after week one.

Her 2026 slate also includes Dhurandhar: The Revenge, making the coming days of Nayyi Navelli an important test of how strongly a Yami-led genre film can hold in cinemas. The immediate task now is clear: the film needs a steady second weekend and a far better hold than its late first-week trend suggested.
