Obsession India Box Office: 2nd Monday Bigger Than 2nd Friday, Film Set To Cross Rs 50 Crore Today

Obsession is turning into the kind of box office story that trade circles love to track, not because it opened like a giant, but because it has refused to behave like a normal release. The Hollywood horror film has found remarkable momentum in India, and its latest weekday hold has given its theatrical run a sharper commercial edge.

At a time when most films face a noticeable correction after the weekend, Obsession has continued to pull audiences through the weekdays. The trend has now put the film within touching distance of a major India milestone.

Obsession 2Nd Monday Bigger Than 2Nd Friday In India

Obsession grossed approximately Rs 4.15 crore in India on its second Monday. That number is around 4 percent higher than its second Friday collection of Rs 4 crore, an exceptional hold by regular box office standards. The week on week jump is even more striking, with Monday collections showing a 70 percent rise over the previous Monday.

The film’s 11 day India total now stands at approximately Rs 47 crore. With discount pricing helping weekday footfalls today, Obsession is set to cross the Rs 50 crore mark in India on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

The current second week trend points to a weekly total of around Rs 36 crore, which would take the film close to Rs 58 crore by the end of Thursday. From there, the Rs 80 crore mark is comfortably within reach, while Rs 90 crore is also part of the active target zone. After this second Monday performance, the Rs 100 crore finish has entered the conversation, provided the film continues to withstand the crowded June release slate.

What Makes Obsession A Standout Box Office Run

The most impressive part of Obsession’s India performance is the curve. The film began modestly with Rs 0.55 crore from previews and Rs 1.60 crore on its first Friday, but strong audience pull lifted it across the weekdays.

Its first Saturday stood at Rs 3.25 crore, Sunday at Rs 3.75 crore, and the weekdays from Tuesday to Thursday each brought in Rs 3.40 crore. The second weekend pushed the film into a different league, with Rs 8 crore on Saturday and Rs 8.75 crore on Sunday before Monday confirmed that the momentum was not just a weekend spike.

The Horror Premise Behind Obsession’S Surprise India Run

Obsession is a 2026 horror film directed by Curry Barker. The film stars Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette, alongside Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter. It is backed by production banners including Capstone Pictures, Blumhouse Productions, Blumhouse Atomic Monster, Tea Shop Productions, and Under the Shell.

The film follows a hopeless romantic whose attempt to win over his crush through a mysterious supernatural wish leads to terrifying consequences. With its lean genre appeal and rapidly growing theatrical footprint, Obsession has become one of the surprise Hollywood performers at the Indian box office this season.
