A fresh casting update has added more intrigue to one of Hindi cinema’s closely watched new-generation launches. Naomika Saran, the granddaughter of Dimple Kapadia and the late Rajesh Khanna, is preparing for her big-screen debut opposite Jigra actor Vedang Raina, and the film has now brought Pragati Srivastava into the spotlight as a parallel lead.
The yet-untitled romantic drama is backed by Maddock Films and directed by Jagdeep Sidhu, making it a project that is already drawing attention for both its talent mix and its pedigree. With Naomika stepping into films from a celebrated film family and Vedang continuing his post-Jigra momentum, Pragati’s addition gives the film a sharper emotional edge.
Pragati Srivastava Joins The Central Cast
Pragati Srivastava has bagged the parallel lead in Naomika Saran’s debut film with Vedang Raina. The casting development is linked to her work on Prakash Jha’s political drama Janaadesh, where she plays the female lead opposite Ishwak Singh and Rahul Bose.
A source connected to the development said, “Pragati was deep into Janaadesh when conversations for this film began. The work she had put in for the political drama worked in her favour during the casting process,” adding that her preparation on the political drama helped strengthen her case for the new film.
The update also clarifies the nature of Pragati’s part in the film. An insider revealed, “Not many know that Pragati is also romantically paired opposite Vedang. The film revolves around these three central characters.”
For Pragati, the project places her alongside two names already generating curiosity among younger audiences, while also giving her an opportunity to expand beyond the space she has been associated with so far.
What We Know About Naomika Saran And Vedang Raina’S Film
Jagdeep Sidhu, known for romance and relationship-driven storytelling, directs the yet-untitled film. Maddock Films is producing the project, adding another youthful love story to a slate that has consistently mixed fresh faces with commercially accessible storytelling.
Naomika’s debut is especially notable because she is the daughter of Rinke Khanna and the granddaughter of two Hindi cinema icons, Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna. For Vedang, the film follows his screen appearance in Jigra, where he starred alongside Alia Bhatt. The combination of a star-family debut, a rising male lead and a new female lead gives the film clear launch value within the current Bollywood landscape.
Pragati Srivastava’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Pragati Srivastava was introduced in the Aanand L Rai-backed Nakhrewaalii, which was slated to release in cinemas on February 14, 2025 and also marked the debut of Ansh Duggal. The film positioned her as a fresh face in the romantic space, a zone she now appears set to build on with her latest casting. But film’s release left in limbo and there is no update on same.
She also has Janaadesh in her line-up, marking a shift into political drama after her romantic debut. As of June 9, 2026, the Naomika Saran and Vedang Raina film does not have an announced release date, but it stands as one of Pragati’s major confirmed upcoming projects and could help define the next phase of her screen journey.
