Obsession India Box Office: Michael Johnston And Inde Navarrette’s Horror Thriller Nears Rs 55 Crore After Strong 2Nd Wednesday

Obsession is refusing to loosen its grip on Indian cinemas. The Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette led horror thriller has become one of the more closely watched Hollywood performers of the season, and its second Wednesday hold has added fresh momentum to an already impressive theatrical run.

As of June 11, 2026, the Curry Barker directorial has collected Rs 54.25 crore gross at the Indian box office in 13 days, including paid previews. The film added Rs 4 crore on its second Wednesday, showing only a 10 percent drop from its discounted Tuesday and around a 15 percent dip from the previous Wednesday. For a genre title driven by word of mouth and sustained evening footfalls, that is a notably steady trend.

Obsession Holds Strong On 2Nd Wednesday

The second week has been especially crucial for Obsession. After a modest start, the film saw a sharp rise through its first weekend and then maintained strong midweek traction. Its second Friday brought in Rs 4 crore, followed by a big Rs 8 crore on the second Saturday and Rs 8.75 crore on the second Sunday. The weekday pattern remained healthy too, with Rs 4.15 crore on the second Monday and Rs 4.50 crore on the second Tuesday before Wednesday confirmed another stable hold.

The film is on course to close its two week run around the Rs 58 crore gross mark in India. That places Obsession in a strong position heading into its third weekend, where horror titles often benefit from late discovery if audience chatter remains positive.

What Obsession Is About

Obsession is a supernatural psychological horror film written, directed and edited by Curry Barker. The film stars Michael Johnston as Bear and Inde Navarrette as Nikki, with Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless and Andy Richter in key supporting roles. It is backed by Capstone Pictures, Tea Shop Productions and Blumhouse Productions, with Focus Features handling the United States theatrical distribution and Universal Pictures handling international distribution.

The story follows Bear, a hopeless romantic who uses the mysterious “One Wish Willow” to make his crush fall in love with him. What begins as a fantasy soon turns into something sinister, as the wish comes with terrifying consequences.

Third Weekend Stakes For Obsession

The Indian run of Obsession has become more interesting because it has grown after release instead of relying only on opening weekend curiosity. The paid previews contributed Rs 0.55 crore, while the first Friday stood at Rs 1.60 crore. The first Saturday jumped to Rs 3.25 crore and Sunday rose further to Rs 3.75 crore, setting up a solid base for the weekdays.

The third weekend will now decide how far Obsession can stretch beyond the Rs 60 crore zone. With its holds staying steady through the second week, the horror thriller has already delivered a strong commercial result in the Indian market.
