Shahid Kapoor has had to briefly swap counterfeit currency chaos for cocktail glasses and romance. With Cocktail 2 racing towards its June 19, 2026 theatrical release, the actor was called back to complete additional portions for Homi Adajania’s film even after moving on to Raj and DK’s Farzi 2.
The development comes at a busy moment for Shahid, who had wrapped his principal work on Cocktail 2 and shifted focus to the second season of his hit crime dramedy. But the film’s final creative push required him, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna to return for fresh material, including new song sequences.
Latest Update On Cocktail 2 Reshoots
A source close to the production revealed, “Shahid, Kriti [Sanon], and Rashmika [Mandanna] were required to reshoot some scenes and new songs in May.” Kriti and Rashmika were available to return to the set, but Shahid’s schedule on Farzi 2 needed to be adjusted.
The source added, “Shahid had to negotiate for a few days off from Farzi 2 shoot, and the makers were gracious enough to accommodate,” confirming that the actor took time out from the streaming series to finish the pending work on the film.
The extra shoot also fits into the film’s music led promotional plan. The first track, Jab Talak, arrived on April 8, after which the campaign moved at a slower pace. An insider said, “Homi, Dino [Dinesh Vijan, producer], and Pritam [composer] are confident that the soundtrack is wholesome enough to appeal to the audience.”

Cocktail 2 is directed by Homi Adajania, who also helmed the 2012 film Cocktail. The new film stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, bringing together a fresh trio for a contemporary romantic drama built around love, friendship and emotional complications.
The film is associated with Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg as producers, with Pritam composing the music. As of June 11, 2026, Cocktail 2 is a confirmed upcoming theatrical release, scheduled to arrive in cinemas on June 19, 2026.
