The conversation around Don 3 has taken a sharper turn, and Ranveer Singh has now found clear public support from his 83 co-star Ammy Virk. With Excel Entertainment’s big franchise becoming the centre of a high-profile industry debate, Ammy’s comments have added a new layer to the chatter around timing, money and star power in Bollywood.
What makes his reaction stand out is not just the support, but the bluntness with which he has addressed the makers’ demand and Ranveer’s current momentum.
Ammy Virk Backs Ranveer Singh In Don 3 Row
During a conversation with Connect Cine, Ammy Virk said, “I feel, when he had a few flops, then you (Excel) could have started Don 3. Then they ignored him. Now that Dhurandhar is a hit, they are asking for their money back.”
He added, “They can do whatever they want. Whatever they are owed of Rs 2-4 crore, take that and move on. Who is going to give Rs 45 crore?”
Ammy also maintained that the situation should not be pinned on Ranveer alone. He said this was “not Ranveer’s fault” and added, “These kinds of cases go nowhere. They go on for 20 years,” while reacting to the possibility of legal proceedings.
The actor-singer also recalled his personal exchange with Ranveer after the trailer of Dhurandhar was released. He said, “I congratulated him after Dhurandhar’s trailer came out. His daughter was born by then. He sent me a long message in English. He told me that I have invested everything in this film. I told him to wait and see and said that his daughter has brought him good luck and god was going to be kind. And that’s what happened. His daughter brought him such good luck.”
How Don 3 Became Bollywood’S Hottest Casting Standoff
Don 3 was announced as the next chapter in Farhan Akhtar’s stylish action franchise, with Ranveer Singh stepping into a role previously headlined by Shah Rukh Khan in Don and Don 2. The film is backed by Excel Entertainment, led by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
The project was designed as a fresh spin on the crime action universe, with a new leading man expected to bring a different swagger to the iconic character. Ammy’s remarks have now pushed the conversation beyond casting and into the business realities that often shape major studio films.
Ranveer Singh’S Recent And Upcoming Work
Ranveer Singh’s recent theatrical phase has kept him firmly in the spotlight. He appeared as Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again in 2024 and headlined Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar in 2025. Its follow-up, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, released earlier in 2026 and strengthened the conversation around his renewed big-screen run.
On OTT, Ranveer made a cameo appearance in The Ba\\\ds of Bollywood in 2025. His future slate includes King*, which is listed as filming for 2026, keeping him in one of the industry’s most closely watched star lineups.
