This Diwali seems interesting at box office as two smaller films tried to take advantage of festival while clashing with one biggie. It has happened in past too and such festive clash always resulted in loss for smaller films and that’s what happened this time around too.
‘Saand Ki Aankh’ makers went in overdrive with showing film 5-6 days before release and splashed media with glowing reviews. Though genuinely film is just above average and that’s what audience saw through ‘fake hype’. Film managed poor numbers on Friday with 60 lac nett follows by distinct jump on Saturday with 1.25 cr nett. Film managed 1 cr nett on Sunday with weekend total of 2.85 cr nett. Film has decent trending so it can manage some traction in days to come.
‘Made In China’ was even weaker despite better release than ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ as it got average reviews only. Film collected 1.10 cr nett on Friday followed by 1.60 cr nett on Saturday. Film added 1.30 cr nett on Sunday. Film collected 4 cr nett over weekend and it will struggle in days to come at box office.
