Ramayana box office buzz grows as the epic poster featuring Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Ravana fuels Day 2 momentum

Just when the Friday slowdown threatened to soften Ramayana: Part One’s opening stretch, the film has swung back with force. Saturday advance bookings have climbed almost level with opening day, giving the Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash starrer a timely box office boost heading deeper into the festive weekend.

Film collected 155 crore gross on day one and it seems film will resurge over the weekend after a bit dip today.

Day 2 Hold Keeps Ramayana Steady

The film collected Rs 35 crore nett on Day 2 in, with the drop from its opening day staying within the expected 20 to 25 percent range for a Thursday release. In the pre-Diwali corridor, that hold counts as stable business, especially with audience attention split before the holiday surge fully sets in.

The dubbed versions continued to provide strong support on Friday, with the southern markets holding particularly well and Telugu leading the trend. The five-day extended weekend for the dubbed versions is now heading toward the Rs 90 crore nett mark and can push close to Rs 100 crore nett if the momentum holds through Sunday.

Saturday Advance Booking Brings The Bounce Back

By 11 pm on Friday, Ramayana had sold 3.20 lakh tickets for Day 3 in Hindi across PVR Inox and Cinepolis. That puts Saturday nearly on par with its opening day national chain sales of 3.25 lakh tickets, and well ahead of Day 2, which stood at 1.80 lakh tickets.

That rebound gives the film a much stronger weekend frame. After Friday’s cooling, Saturday has restored the pace and signalled that the film still has significant audience pull in its premium urban circuits. If the walk-in trend follows the booking pattern, the weekend business should close on a far more upbeat note than Friday alone had suggested.

Cast, Crew And Franchise Stakes

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part One brings together Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious large-scale mythological productions. Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey are also part of the ensemble, with the film mounted as the opening chapter of a two-part theatrical saga.

That larger franchise plan gives this opening weekend added weight. Ramayana: Part One is not just chasing a strong festive run at the box office, it is also setting the commercial base for the next installment, which is already lined up for a Diwali 2028 release. With Saturday’s booking surge, the film has given itself the kind of weekend lift that keeps that larger vision firmly on track.
