The update also locks in his collaboration with filmmaker SU Arun Kumar, a combination that has instantly drawn attention for bringing together one of Indian cinema’s most enduring stars and a director known for his rooted, intense storytelling.
The title reveal has given Sandiyar an immediate identity. The first look poster presents the film with a rugged visual tone and suggests a project mounted with strong scale and a clear creative vision. Even at this early stage, the announcement has sparked curiosity around what Kamal Haasan and SU Arun Kumar are shaping together.
The Latest Update On Sandiyar
Sandiyar is presented under the banners of Raaj Kamal Films International and Turmeric Media. The film is produced by Kamal Haasan and R. Mahendran, placing Haasan at the centre of the project both as its lead star and one of its producers.

Sunil KS has come on board as director of photography, with CS Balachander serving as production designer and Amritha Ram as costume designer. Together, the credits point to a film being put together with a strong visual and action-driven sensibility.

Why This Collaboration Stands Out
A Kamal Haasan film announcement always arrives with built-in attention, but Sandiyar carries added interest because it marks his project with SU Arun Kumar. The director has built a reputation for stories that are emotionally grounded and character-focused, making this pairing especially intriguing for viewers tracking major Tamil cinema developments.
For now, the makers have chosen to keep the spotlight on the title and first look poster rather than reveal story details or the rest of the cast. That measured rollout keeps the film’s mood and presence at the forefront, allowing the title announcement itself to do the heavy lifting.
