Amitabh Bachchan waves to fans outside Jalsa in Juhu amid renewed security concerns after bomb threat email

For the second time in two weeks, Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow Jalsa has found itself at the centre of a disturbing security scare. The veteran star’s home, one of Mumbai’s most recognised celebrity addresses, was named in a fresh bomb threat email that also mentioned several major public landmarks, prompting an immediate sweep by the authorities.

Fresh Security Alert Triggers Searches

Mumbai authorities initiated checks after the threat email flagged Jalsa along with the Bombay High Court, the Bombay Stock Exchange and Mahalaxmi Racecourse. Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads inspected the locations listed in the message, but no suspicious object was found during the operation.

The mention of Jalsa instantly drew attention because the residence is more than just Bachchan’s home. Over the years, it has become a cultural landmark for fans, television crews and visitors, with crowds routinely gathering outside its gates for a glimpse of the actor during his regular public appearances.

Second Threat In Two Weeks

The latest alert follows a similar threat issued late last month, when Jalsa was also named along with other high-profile Mumbai locations. That earlier warning had already led to enhanced security outside the bungalow, turning an already closely watched address into an even more tightly monitored space.

The added precautions became especially visible during Bachchan’s customary Sunday greeting for fans. Following the previous alert, he appeared before admirers from behind a transparent bulletproof enclosure, with Abhishek Bachchan by his side while police personnel kept watch over the gathering.

Security Around Celebrity Hubs Back In Focus

The renewed scare has again turned attention to security arrangements in Mumbai’s celebrity-heavy pockets, particularly Juhu, where star homes often become public congregation points. In Bachchan’s case, that visibility is constant. Jalsa remains one of the few residences in the city with a direct emotional connection to generations of moviegoers, making any development linked to it instantly high interest news.

That enduring visibility also explains why Bachchan’s professional journey continues to draw as much attention as his public appearances.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Bachchan remained a major screen presence in 2024 with Kalki 2898 AD, in which he played Ashwatthama in Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic alongside Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan. The film emerged as one of the year’s biggest Indian theatrical releases and reinforced his ability to command attention in large-scale event cinema even now.

He also featured in Vettaiyan with Rajinikanth, extending his strong cross-industry run, and made a special appearance in the Gujarati film Fakt Purusho Maate. Looking ahead, Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2 remains a confirmed upcoming project.
