Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi‘s Tiger 3 premiered in Japan last week under the Yash Raj Films banner.

Tiger 3 Grosses JPY 15 Million In Week 1, 40% Behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan

The film fell short of the initial week earnings of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, another instalment in the YRF Spy Verse, which collected JPY 25 million (approximately USD 175K) and eventually closed at JPY 45 million.

Despite its successful global release, Tiger 3 has garnered a total worldwide gross of around Rs 450 crores, including its earlier international earnings of USD 15 million.

Although impressive, the movie ranks second in YRF’s Spy Universe in terms of gross revenue, trailing behind the phenomenal success of Pathaan, which crossed the Rs. 1000 crore mark.

However, the franchise is poised for expansion with the upcoming release of War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani.

While Indian films have a limited presence in Japan, a few have made significant impacts. RRR by SS Rajamouli stands out as the most successful Indian film in Japan, grossing an impressive JPY 2.4 billion (USD 18 million) during its extended theatrical run. Other noteworthy films include Baahubali 2 and Saaho, which earned JPY 350 million and JPY 125 million, respectively.

About Tiger 3 & Salman Khan’s Upcoming Projects

Tiger 3 continues the story of Avinash Singh Rathore (alias “Tiger”), played by Salman Khan, on a dangerous mission to clear his and his family’s name after being falsely accused of treason.

This narrative builds upon the storyline established in previous franchise entries like Tiger Zinda Hai, War, and Pathaan.

Looking ahead, Salman Khan’s upcoming projects include Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, set for an Eid 2025 release, with Rashmika Mandanna confirmed as the female lead. Additionally, director Vishnuvardhan’s The Bull is in development, targeting a potential release in 2026.
