Sardar 2 Slips Further At The Box Office As Karthi’s Action Thriller Ends Day 4 With Rs 13 Crore

Karthi’s Sardar 2 needed a strong weekend surge to steady its theatrical run, but the film has instead closed its first four days on a muted note. The action thriller added Rs 2.75 crore on Day 4, taking its total gross in India to Rs 13 crore. For a sequel that arrived with franchise recall and a star-led setup, the weekend numbers underline a run that has not gathered the expected pace.

The slowdown is visible in the film’s daily trajectory. After opening at Rs 5 crore, Sardar 2 dropped to Rs 2.50 crore on Day 2 before collecting Rs 2.75 crore on Day 3 and Rs 2.75 crore again on Day 4. Rather than building sharply through the weekend, the film settled into a flatter pattern, leaving it with ground to recover as it heads into the weekdays.

Day 4 Collections Keep The Film Under Pressure

The four-day number stands at Rs 13 crore gross, with Tamil Nadu contributing the biggest share at Rs 7 crore. The Telugu states have brought in Rs 4.15 crore, Karnataka has added Rs 1.35 crore, and the rest of India has contributed Rs 50 lakh.

Sardaar 2 Box Office Collection:

Day 1: 5.00 cr

Day 2: 2.50 cr

Day 3: 2.75 cr

Day 4: 2.75 cr

Total: 13.00 crore

Those figures show that the film has drawn most of its strength from its core southern markets, but even there, the weekend has not delivered the kind of breakout acceleration that usually lifts a sequel into a stronger theatrical position.

Competition Has Hurt The Weekend Run

That territory-wise performance also reflects the challenge Sardar 2 is facing at the ticket window. With Mandaadi showing a stronger trend over the same weekend, Karthi’s film has had to fight harder for audience attention instead of capitalising on its opening-day visibility.

The clash has made the road tougher, particularly when a film is already relying on weekend growth to stabilise its run. At this point, the real test begins on the weekdays. If Sardar 2 cannot hold steady from Monday onward, its theatrical prospects are likely to remain modest.

Cast, Crew And Story Details

Sardar 2 is a Tamil-language spy action thriller directed by P. S. Mithran and headlined by Karthi, with S. J. Suryah in the antagonist’s role. Backed by Prince Pictures, the film serves as the sequel to Sardar, which released in 2022. The cast also includes Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, and Rajisha Vijayan.

The film follows Vijay Prakash, also known as Viji, as he is pulled into a high-risk mission involving Black Dagger and a powerful biochemical weapon named Doku. The story also brings back Sardar Chandra Bose, turning the conflict into a father-son battle against a larger destructive threat.

What The Weekday Test Means

For now, the immediate focus remains firmly on the box office. A four-day total of Rs 13 crore keeps Sardar 2 in a vulnerable spot, especially for a sequel expected to build stronger after release. The coming weekdays will determine whether the film can stabilise with steady collections or continue its slide after an underwhelming opening weekend.
