Shah Rukh Khan, the king of Bollywood, has achieved a new milestone in his illustrious career. He is set to become the first Bollywood star to cross the $ 100 million mark in overseas markets in 2023, with his two blockbuster movies Jawan and Pathaan.
Jawan, an action thriller directed by Atlee and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, has grossed $44.6 million in the international markets, making it the one of highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in the overseas territories (barring China). The film, which also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, has received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike for its high-octane action sequences, stunning visuals and gripping storyline.
Pathaan, an espionage actioner directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films, had grossed the $47.9 million internationally, becoming one of the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in the overseas markets (barring China). The film, which also features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles, has impressed the viewers with its thrilling plot, spectacular stunts and charismatic performances.
Shah Rukh Khan stands as one of the actors with the highest cumulative collections in a single year at the overseas box office. With a cumulative total of USD 92.5 million from just two releases in 2023, he is well on his way to aggregating USD 100 million at the box office in a single year, given that Jawan is still going strong and Dunki with Rajkumar Hirani is yet to release.
The massive collections of Jawan and Pathaan coupled with those generated by Dunki are sure to establish Shah Rukh Khan as the highest grossing actor in the overseas market. This will be a record not going to get broken for a long time.
Shah Rukh Khan Delivers Rs 2141 Cr Globally In Same Year; Set To Cross 3000-Cr Mark
Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood superstar, has achieved a remarkable feat in 2023 by delivering two blockbuster films that have crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide.
The total amount of earnings of both his films, Pathaan and Jawan stand at a staggering Rs. 2141.19 crores. Both films have been praised for their action-packed sequences, star-studded cast, and Shah Rukh’s charismatic performance.
He is also likely to end the year with Rs 3000+ crores, as Jawan is still running strong at the box office and on top of it, his upcoming film with Rajkumar Hirani, is expected to achieve the similar feat if not bigger.
