The Mummy Nears Rs 30 Crore In India As Lee Cronin Horror Film Holds Steady On Second Wednesday

A horror title with instant recall is refusing to fade in India. The Mummy, directed by Lee Cronin, minted Rs 1.15 crore on its second Wednesday, slipping just 10 per cent from Tuesday and pushing its total Indian gross to Rs 28.30 crore. In a crowded theatrical landscape, that measured drop gives the film a strong edge as it closes in on the Rs 30 crore milestone.

The real story lies in the trendline. Weekday numbers usually expose whether a film is running on launch-week buzz or building genuine theatrical traction. The Mummy has done enough to suggest the latter, holding firm through its second week and keeping itself in play even as the market shifts around it.

Second-Week Stability Pushes The Mummy Toward A New Milestone

After collecting Rs 1.30 crore on its second Tuesday, The Mummy eased to Rs 1.15 crore on Wednesday. That took its second-week total to Rs 11.30 crore in six days and lifted its overall India gross to Rs 28.30 crore.

Those figures point to a sturdy run for the Lee Cronin directorial. The film now stands within striking distance of Rs 30 crore in India, a mark it is expected to hit very soon if current trends continue. For a Hollywood horror release, that is a healthy result and one that gives the title extra weight in the market.

Lee Cronin’s Dark Reimagining Gives The Mummy A New Identity

That box office steadiness is easier to understand once the film itself comes into focus. This version of The Mummy is not built as a throwback action adventure. Cronin has instead reshaped the property into a supernatural horror story with a far darker emotional center, giving the title a fresh screen identity.

Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Verónica Falcón lead the cast, while New Line Cinema, Atomic Monster, Blumhouse Productions, and Wicked/Good produced the film. Warner Bros. Pictures released it theatrically in 2026.

The story follows a family shaken by the return of their long-missing daughter in mummified form, only for that impossible homecoming to unleash something terrifying. That horror-first treatment clearly separates the film from earlier screen versions of The Mummy, even as the familiar title continues to carry strong audience recognition in India.

At Rs 28.30 crore, the film has already carved out a notable run for itself in the territory. With the next milestone now close, The Mummy has managed to turn brand familiarity and a fresh creative approach into a solid theatrical performance.
