Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is showing rare staying power at the Indian box office. Even in its seventh week, with reduced showcasing and fewer shows in circulation, the epic drama managed to hold its ground and add another Rs 2.82 crore to its tally. That takes its total India nett collection to Rs 186.44 crore, underlining the film’s long theatrical run well beyond its opening rush.
The seventh-week daily trend reflects that hold clearly. The film collected Rs 31 lakh on Friday, Rs 61 lakh on Saturday, Rs 67 lakh on Sunday, Rs 28 lakh on Monday, Rs 35 lakh on Tuesday, Rs 31 lakh on Wednesday and Rs 29 lakh on Thursday. The steady weekend lift and relatively controlled weekday drops helped the film stay active despite screen pressure.
Week 7 Hold Keeps The Run Alive
For a film already deep into its theatrical run, The Odyssey continues to find an audience in India. Week 7 brought in Rs 2.82 crore, a modest number on paper but a significant sign of endurance at a stage when most big titles have already faded out of cinemas.
Its week-wise run also shows how strongly it was frontloaded before settling into a stable pattern. The film opened with Rs 85.65 crore in Week 1, followed by Rs 45.67 crore in Week 2, Rs 23.69 crore in Week 3, Rs 15.65 crore in Week 4, Rs 7.39 crore in Week 5, Rs 5.57 crore in Week 6 and Rs 2.82 crore in Week 7. That takes the cumulative India nett total to Rs 186.44 crore.
The latest stretch suggests that premium format pull, Nolan’s brand value and sustained audience interest have all contributed to the film’s extended theatrical life in the market.

The Film’s Scale And Story
The Odyssey is directed and written by Christopher Nolan and produced by Emma Thomas and Nolan under the Syncopy banner, with Universal Pictures backing the film. The cast includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya and Charlize Theron.
Released on July 17, 2026, the film is a mythic action epic based on Homer’s classic poem. It follows Odysseus and his long, dangerous journey home after the Trojan War, with Nolan mounting the story on a large-format visual canvas designed for IMAX presentation.
Christopher Nolan’s Recent Work
Before The Odyssey, Nolan last directed Oppenheimer, which released in 2023 and became both a critical and commercial triumph. The film won major awards globally and further strengthened Nolan’s standing as one of the few directors whose name alone can turn an original or literary adaptation into a major theatrical event.
With The Odyssey, he shifted from historical drama to classical myth, but the commercial response in India shows that audience trust in his storytelling remains firmly intact. Crossing Rs 186.44 crore nett in the market and still posting week-on-week numbers in its seventh frame is a strong result for a demanding, large-scale epic.
