Tom Holland’S Spider-Man Brand New Day Eyes All-Time Record India Opening, Set To Beat Avengers Endgame With Rs 60 Crore Nett

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has exploded out of the gates in India, turning its first day into a full-blown box office event. Packed shows, strong spot bookings, and sold-out screenings across key markets have pushed the film to the front of the record books, with the newest Spider-Man entry now poised to deliver the biggest Hollywood opening the country has ever seen.

Spider-Man Brand New Day Charges Past Endgame In India Opening Race

Early trade estimates place Spider-Man: Brand New Day at around Rs 60 crore nett on day one in India, enough to set a new all-time Hollywood opening record in the market. That number takes it past Avengers: Endgame, which opened at Rs 53.50 crore nett and had long remained the benchmark for imported event cinema in the territory.

As Pinkvilla wrote, “As per early estimates, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to be the #1 opener for Hollywood in India, with the film looking to collect over Rs. 55 crore nett on its first day today, surpassing the previous best of Rs. 53.50 crore nett by Avengers: Endgame.” The report further stated, “The final figure is expected to be better, likely closer to Rs. 60 crore nett.”

The significance of that surge is hard to miss in a market where superhero spectacles often depend on front-loaded momentum. Pinkvilla also noted, “This will be an all-time record for the film. Beating Avengers: Endgame’s mammoth Day 1 record proves the hype around the film among the Indian audience.”

That hype looks even bigger when placed beside the franchise’s last outing. Spider-Man: No Way Home opened at Rs 33 crore in India and finished with more than Rs 265 crore in its full run, making this new debut a massive jump over Peter Parker’s previous big-screen chapter. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day brings back Tom Holland at the center of Marvel and Sony’s latest theatrical push, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon among the returning faces.

The India response also underlines the strength of Holland’s draw in a market that has consistently embraced major Marvel titles. For exhibitors, Brand New Day is not just another franchise release. It is the kind of opening that resets the ceiling for Hollywood films and reinforces just how powerful the Spider-Man brand remains with Indian audiences.

Tom Holland’S Recent And Upcoming Work

That makes this opening especially significant in the context of Tom Holland’s recent screen run. Over the past few years, the actor moved between franchise-led tentpoles and streaming-driven dramatic work, but Spider-Man: Brand New Day has brought him back to the center of a theatrical storm in India. He starred in Uncharted in 2022, followed by the Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room in 2023, before returning to cinemas in 2026 with Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

The scale of this India start gives Holland one of his biggest theatrical moments in the territory and strengthens the commercial weight he carries as Peter Parker. He is also part of Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for release later in 2026, but for now the spotlight stays firmly on Brand New Day and its record-breaking first day charge at the Indian box office.
