Toxic Box Office: Yash Film Sees 95% Drop With Rs 3.5 Crore Nett In Hindi On Monday

Toxic has hit a wall in Hindi. After storming into cinemas with a huge Rs 54.50 crore nett opening day and racing to Rs 125 crore over its five-day extended weekend, the Yash starrer crashed on its first Monday with just Rs 3.5 crore nett, marking a steep 95 percent drop from Friday. For a film that began with such explosive numbers, the weekday plunge has instantly changed the conversation around its theatrical run.

Monday Drop Changes The Box Office Narrative

A drop of this magnitude matters because it strips away the advantage of a giant opening and puts the focus squarely on audience hold. Toxic now stands at Rs 128.50 crore nett in Hindi after six days, but the momentum has clearly slowed far earlier than a high-profile event film would want. Film is heading for worldwide disastrous result as it might struggle to cross 140 – 145 crore nett lifetime in Hindi!

Monday is often the day when a film’s real staying power comes into view, and Toxic has taken a visible hit on that front. A frontloaded launch can always inflate the early total, but sustaining through the weekdays is what separates an opener from a long runner. In this case, the Monday figure has pushed the Hindi run into a far more difficult zone.

What The Film Is Up Against Now

The immediate concern is not the opening, but what comes next. Once a film records such a sharp weekday fall, the pressure shifts to whether it can stabilise over Tuesday and Wednesday and hold enough screens going into the second weekend. In the Hindi market, that becomes especially difficult when the first Monday lands at Rs 3.5 crore nett after such a towering start.

That is why this trendline is so crucial. Toxic is now being judged less by the noise of its opening and more by whether audiences are staying with it after the initial rush. As the box office picture turns tougher, the film’s scale and ambition make the contrast even starker, which brings its making and positioning into sharper focus.

Toxic Cast, Crew And Film Details

Toxic is a 2026 action thriller directed by Geetu Mohandas and led by Yash, who also serves as a producer on the film. The film is backed by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, and was mounted as a multilingual theatrical release aimed at a broad pan-India audience.

The film has been sold as a stylised action drama carrying the subtitle A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. It released in theatres on August 26, 2026, after multiple shifts in its release timeline, and arrived with the kind of scale that placed immediate pressure on its box office trajectory.

Yash’s Recent And Upcoming Work

That is also why the Hindi performance of Toxic matters beyond a single weekday number. Before this film, Yash’s last theatrical release was K.G.F: Chapter 2 in 2022, a blockbuster that elevated him into the top tier of pan-India stardom. Toxic was positioned as his return vehicle after that gap, making its trajectory a key part of his 2026 theatrical story.

The actor will next be seen in Ramayana: Part 1, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, which is scheduled to release on November 6, 2026. With Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Sunny Deol in major roles, that film is already one of the year’s biggest titles. Against that backdrop, Toxic carries added weight, because its Hindi run now becomes the first chapter in how Yash’s big-screen year is likely to be assessed.
