Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe has ended its first week at the box office with Rs 10.50 crore nett in India, a total that puts the film firmly on the back foot after its opening weekend. The film found some early traction over its first three days, but the weekday trend turned sharply and cut short any chance of building real theatrical momentum.
That first-week total also sets up a stark comparison with Kunal’s previous directorial Madgaon Express, which closed its India nett run at Rs 38.47 crore. At Rs 10.50 crore after seven days, Vibe has not reached even one-third of that full-run number. It will finish lifetime run with poor total of 12 crore nett.
Vibe First Week Box Office Breakdown
Vibe opened with Rs 1.75 crore on day one, jumped to Rs 2.75 crore on day two, and added Rs 2.85 crore on day three. That gave the film an opening weekend total of Rs 7.35 crore nett and briefly suggested it had enough support to push through the weekdays.
Instead, collections fell to Rs 0.75 crore on day four, edged up to Rs 1 crore on day five, then dropped again to Rs 0.75 crore on day six and Rs 0.65 crore on day seven. The seven-day total now stands at Rs 10.50 crore nett, with the weekday collapse emerging as the defining feature of the film’s opening run.

The Madgaon Express Comparison Stands Out
The contrast with Madgaon Express is unavoidable because that film reset expectations around Kunal Kemmu’s directing career. Released in March 2024, Madgaon Express finished with Rs 38.47 crore nett in India and emerged as a clear theatrical success.
By comparison, one-third of Madgaon Express works out to a little over Rs 12.82 crore, which means Vibe stayed below that mark even after completing its entire first week. That single comparison captures the distance between the two films more sharply than any broader trendline.
What Happens Next For Vibe
Released in theatres on September 18, 2026, Vibe stars Kunal Kemmu alongside Sparsh Shrivastava, Preity G Zinta, Vanshika Dhir, Yashpal Sharma and Dinesh Lal Yadav. With a first week of Rs 10.50 crore nett, the film now enters its second weekend with very little margin for recovery.
For Kunal, that makes Vibe an immediate setback in his theatrical track record after Madgaon Express had established him as a filmmaker with strong commercial promise. The new film has now drawn a clear line between a successful directorial breakthrough and a follow-up that failed to convert its opening weekend into a sustained box office run.
