It seems Love Jihad controversy is not getting over anytime soon. Now Twitter started trending boycotted Netflix over kissing scene which was shot in temple premises in a series titled ‘A Suitable Boy‘.

Several netizens have accused filmmaker Meera Nair’s web series ‘A Suitable Boy’ of promoting love jihad.

A case has been registered against Netflix in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa over the issue by BJP leader Gaurav Tiwari.

He also posted a video and details of the FIR thereby announcing that he is uninstalling Netflix from his phone, #BoycottNetflix started to trend on Twitter.

The series is based on the famous novel by Vikram Seth set in the 1950’s newly independent India.

In the scene which is caught up in controversy, the protagonist can be seen kissing her interfaith lover in the temple premises. People on the internet askes why makers did not assert their creative freedom and shot the same scene in the Mosque.

The six-part series is directed by Mira Nair and also stars Ram Kapoor, Shahana Goswami, newcomer Tanya Maniktala, Rasika Dugal, Namit Das, Gagan Dev Riar, Danesh Razvi, Mikhail Sen and Mahira Kakkar.
