Friends: The Reunion brings our favorite six friends played by Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Mathew Perry and Matt LeBlanc back together after 17 years. This 100-minute long reunion premiered on HBO Max worldwide and Zee5 in India this noon.
Friends has become a cult, especially more in the age of streaming where even new generation has seen and loved the show. Despite the continuous debates about its overarching themes, this iconic sitcom still remains to the most loved and well-recognised TV shows to ever hit the small screen globally.
The reunion special episode was high on emotions and tears from the very beginning. The six stars sat together for an interview with James Corden in front of the iconic fountain where they shot the theme song. The interview was then interspaced with the stars reading their popular scenes, reenacting some scenes and watching the bloopers.
The internet has gone crazy since the premiere, so much that #FriendsReunion has been trending on Twitter in India at position 1. Netizens are getting teary eyed and nostalgic while watching the show.
Here’s a look at some of their posts and tweets:
I laughed. I cried. Sometimes, both at once. #FriendsReunion is an emotionally overwhelming journey for those attached to the series.
It loyally sticks to the format of your average episode: Love, friendship, comedy, cameos… And add to all of this, much nostalgia value too.— Sudhir Srinivasan (@sudhirsrinivasn) May 27, 2021

People need to understand that it's not always about a show being funny to have a special place in your heart. It's about finding warmth & solace while watching them all together even after decades of it going off-air that makes this show and these people special#friendsreunion pic.twitter.com/Mc3Nv4bzqg
