Aaman Devgn is still recovering from the lacklustre reception of his first film Azaad but now plans to shift gears with his horror-comedy venture Jhalak Dikhlhaa Jaa. This will mark a reunion between Ajay Devgn‘s Devgn Films and Panorama Studios, the successful collaborators behind the 2024 supernatural thriller Shaitaan.
The project promises a first-of-its-kind blend of horror and comedy, as the movie is bound to be based on a true story. The film is set to be directed by Umang Vyas of the Gujarati blockbuster Jhamkudi, while noted for Munjya, Tushar Ajgaonkar will take the reins as the writer.
The horror-comedy genre is in a different world nowadays. With Shaitaan, we had a certain vision, and for Jhalak Dikhlhaa Jaa, I’m sure we’ll be closer to achieving our goals,” said Ajay Devgn, who will produce the film alongside Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak.
Adding a personal touch to the collaboration, Panorama Studios Chairman Kumar Mangat Pathak stated, “Other than the fact that it keeps up the spirit of our partnership with Devgn Films, Jhalak allows us to showcase surprising new stories to the audience. We’re confident this film will resonate deeply, as it beautifully combines horror and laughter.”
The film is currently in pre-production, with principal photography expected to begin soon. Details about the supporting cast and an official release date will be revealed in the coming months.
