Interstellar Set For Record-Breaking Re-run In India
IMAX screenings are selling out fast, showcasing the film’s enduring popularity. With 18 days still left for the release, pre-sales are already close to the 100K milestone, hinting at a massive opening weekend.
The hype around the re-release is real. Industry insiders believe Interstellar could set new records for re-released films in India. The movie will play on all IMAX screens across the country, with ticket prices set at an affordable Rs 300 to attract a wider audience.
The Film Has Grossed Over $743 M So Far Including Re-Releases
Released in 2014, Interstellar was a global hit, earning $681 million during its original run. Including re-releases, it has grossed $743 million worldwide. Its gripping story of survival, love, and discovery, combined with Nolan’s direction, continues to captivate viewers.
The Indian re-release wasn’t without delays. Initially planned for 6 December 2024 to mark its 10th anniversary, the date was moved due to the dominance of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, which took over key IMAX screens. Now, Interstellar is set to release on 7 February 2025, where it will compete with Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravi Kumar and Junaid Khan-Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyapa.
Despite the competition, Interstellar is expected to remain a top choice for moviegoers. Its iconic reputation and the chance to experience it on IMAX screens again are expected to draw large crowds.
The re-release date is approaching & Interstellar has proved once more why it remains one of Nolan’s most celebrated films.
