India has always been one of the biggest markets for Spider-Man, with unrivaled love for the friendly neighborhood superhero. This is the reason why the Hollywood animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been received so well in India. Another reason is the strong IP and Marvel’s fascination with the audiences in India.
In its 5th week in cinemas, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is already the 3rd Highest grossing Hollywood Studio film for the year, surpassing many live-action superhero films as well. The film has collected $607 million globally now and is the top choice for audiences across the world. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is running successfully across theatres in India.
A sequel to Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, this film was released on June 2, 2023, around 1900-2000 screens in India. The film met with mostly positive critical response in India and started on a good note and it has become the highest-grossing animated film of all time in India.

Opening Day Collections
On its opening day, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse earned 4.20 cr net at the box office. However, it saw a drop in ticket sales due to competition from new releases, earning 3.34 cr net. The drop was around 20% compared to the first-day collection.
Luckily, the film saw a jump of 55% on day three and minted 5.19 cr net. By Sunday, the film earned around 17% with a collection of 6.11 cr net numbers. By day four, the film had earned 18.84 cr net, which is a great number for a Hollywood film in India. Globally, the film has grossed over $607.3 million at the box office so far.

Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, the film is produced by Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures, and Marvel. It follows the journey of Miles Morales / Spider-Man who goes inside the Spider-verse to meet Spider-Man 2099. Shameik Moore has lent his voice to the titular character. Other actors who have provided their voices in the film are Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, and Luna Lauren Vélez.
