In 2021, Farhan Akhtar announced to the world that he would be returning to the director’s chair after more than 12 years with Jee Le Zaraa. The film, written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, is set to explore the friendship of three girls who embark on a road trip. It is planned as a female version of Farhan’s cult classic Dil Chahta Hai. But the film has been getting postponed since its announcement for various reasons.
Recently, it was announced that Priyanka Chopra has left the project to star in the second season of Citadel. This news came as a shock as people were expecting the trio of Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif to star in the film. Now there is another piece of bad news for the fans waiting for the film. Katrina Kaif has also reported left Jee Le Zaraa.
Now, the makers are planning to cast Anushka Sharma and Kiara Advani in the lead roles alongside Alia Bhatt. We can hope that the film finally gets greenlit and we can enjoy it on the silver screen. It will be produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Productions.

Farhan Akhtar’s Upcoming Projects
Farhan has decided to focus on his acting for now. He will be seen in an Aamir Khan productions film directed by RS Prasanna. It is an official remake of the 2018 Spanish sports comedy-drama Campeones and is expected to go on the floor by October. After that, he will reportedly work on Don 3 which will star Ranveer Singh.
