Released in 1994, “Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa” stars Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi. It has completed 29 years today. The romance-drama was directed by Kundan Shah made reportedly on a budget of Rs 1.4 cr and earned Rs 5.5 cr at the Box-office.
It showcases the story of Sunil who makes every trick to win hearts of Anna, who is in love with Chris. In a desperate trying way to conquer her love, he develops misunderstandings between her and Chris.
It has been a personal favourite of SRK as he won Filmfare best actor critic award for it. According to Kundan Shah, SRK was very “adjusting” all along and lived in a guest house with a tariff of Rs 160 while shooting it. This is one of the best regarded and special films of the actor.

It was remade in Telugu as Swapnalokam in 1999. SRK acquired the rights to the film under his banner Red Chillies Entertainment. Film’s special song ‘Ae Kaash Ke Hum’ won hearts of people and still is the favourite of many.
In this era of digital hyperbole and keypad anxiety, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’s sociocultural stability—which depicts Christians, Muslims, Parsis, Konkanis, and Gujaratis coexisting in comic harmony—seems more pertinent.
Also film won Shah Rukh Khan Best Actor critic Filmfare award in 1993. This film released between SRK’s two completely opposite films but massive blockbusters ‘Baazigar’ and ‘Darr’.
