EXCLUSIVE: Aaishvary Thackrey Plays Bobby Deol’S Son In Ahaan Panday And Ali Abbas Zafar’S Yrf Film

Yash Raj Films’ next big casting move has put a sharp new spin on its villain arc. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Aaishvary Thackrey will play Bobby Deol’s son in the upcoming Ali Abbas Zafar directorial starring Ahaan Panday and Sharvari, a father-son antagonist setup that instantly makes the film’s conflict more charged and intriguing. Backed by Aditya Chopra, the film is slated for a theatrical release on March 26, 2027.

Aaishvary Thackrey Joins The Film’S Father-Son Antagonist Track

The new detail adds a stronger dramatic layer to a film that is already drawing attention for its combination of a young lead, an established commercial director, and Bobby Deol in a key role. With Aaishvary now cast as Bobby’s on-screen son, the antagonist side of the story appears designed with a generational dynamic at its core, giving the ensemble a more textured edge.

Aaishvary Thackrey, who is also associated with Nishaanchi, lands one of the film’s most interesting parts with this character equation. The project is produced by Aditya Chopra and marks another collaboration between Ali Abbas Zafar and Yash Raj Films after Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011), Gunday (2014), Sultan (2016), and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). Sharvari also features in the cast, rounding out a line-up that blends fresh and established screen presence.

Earlier, talking about collaborating with Ahaan, Ali had said, “What I love about Ahaan is his sincerity. In today’s time, when everything can feel performative and an act, he brings a kind of old-school honesty to his performance, like the romantic heroes we have grown up watching and loving. The camera picks up on that. You can’t act vulnerable on screen, it doesn’t land and he isn’t afraid to be vulnerable which is incredible.”

Ahaan Panday Continues His Yrf Run

The film further extends Ahaan Panday’s association with Yash Raj Films after Saiyaara. Directed by Mohit Suri, the romantic drama released in July 2025 and clicked with audiences for its music and the fresh pairing of Ahaan and Aneet Padda. The trio of Ahaan, Aneet and Mohit is also coming together again for another romantic film, keeping the actor’s early momentum firmly intact.

That makes this Ali Abbas Zafar film an especially notable follow-up, because it places Ahaan in a very different commercial space. Opposite a villain setup involving Bobby Deol and Aaishvary Thackrey, the project signals a broader genre stretch at a crucial point in the young actor’s trajectory.

Bobby Deol’S Recent And Upcoming Work

In the last few years, Bobby Deol has built a striking second act around darker and more intimidating characters. He was seen in Kanguva (2024), the Tamil action fantasy led by Suriya, after delivering one of his most discussed turns in Animal (2023), the Sandeep Reddy Vanga blockbuster that sharply amplified his menacing screen image. Before that, he featured in Love Hostel (2022), which premiered on ZEE5, while Aashram continued to keep him firmly in the OTT conversation. His recent release was YRF’s spy universe film Alpha starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh. He also appeared in Vijay’s swan song film released recently Jana Nayagan.

This latest character slot fits neatly into that phase of his career. Bobby’s recent choices have increasingly leaned into threat, mystique and commanding antagonistic energy, and the addition of an on-screen son to that equation suggests another role built around power and presence rather than conventional heroism.
