Aamir Khan has stepped in as a mediator in the escalating dispute between Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment over Don 3, as the parties remain at odds over a reported Rs 40 crore compensation claim tied to pre-production losses.
The disagreement follows Ranveer’s exit from Don 3, the next installment in the franchise to be directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Excel Entertainment. With the issue now drawing wider industry attention, the Producers Guild of India is also involved in facilitating discussions aimed at resolving the deadlock.
Aamir Khan Steps In To Mediate The Don 3 Dispute
In recent days, multiple prominent film personalities and studio heads were seen arriving at Aamir Khan’s Mumbai residence, including Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment, along with other leading producers and executives.
The meeting has now been linked directly to the Don 3 dispute. A source was quoted saying, “Aamir is trying to resolve the issues between Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment. The two have had some unresolved issues, which have caught attention. The meetings at his place are for the same.”
Separately, the Producers Guild of India has indicated that no formal complaint has been placed before its general body so far, but the matter is expected to be heard informally. As per the reported process being discussed, both sides would be given a limited window after the meeting to work toward an amicable settlement.
What The Rs 40 Crore Row Is About
At the center of the conflict is a reported Rs 40 crore claim, with Excel Entertainment said to be seeking compensation for costs incurred during pre-production, including planning and scheduling expenditures that were allegedly impacted after Ranveer’s exit.
Ranveer, according to the reported account of the dispute, has maintained that he stepped away because he was unhappy with the script. The back and forth also triggered chatter around possible recasting, including claims that Hrithik Roshan was being considered for the role.
Hrithik later denied those reports directly, saying, “What started off as just a rumour has now taken a life of its own, and it’s important to set the record straight. I would like to categorically clarify that I was never approached for Don 3 at any given time. I request the media to steer clear of any such unverified reports.”
As of now, neither Ranveer Singh nor Excel Entertainment has issued a detailed public statement outlining their positions point by point.
Ranveer Singh’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Ranveer was last seen in Dhurandhar (2025), directed by Aditya Dhar, alongside ensemble cast. He is also set to appear in Dhurandhar The Revenge (2026), Aditya Dhar’s sequel of blockbuster film.
