Aamir Khan Opens Up About Low Celebrity Attendance At Nitin Desai’s Funeral

Popular and celebrated Bollywood art director Nitin Desai passed away tragically. The news of his untimely and sudden demise sent shock waves in not just Bollywood but across several other industries. Nitin was known for his amazing set design in films like Lagaan, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Jodhaa Akbar, and 1942: A Love Story.

Nitin’s funeral took place yesterday at his ND studios in Karjat. Several Bollywood celebrities like Aamir Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ashutosh Gowariker, Madhur Bhandarkar, and Sonali Kulkarni attended the funeral. Aamir talked about his experience of working with Nitin on various films. He said, “This is very shocking news. I am unable to understand how did this happen. I can’t believe it. I wish he did not do this and reached out for help instead.”

He added, “But what can we say in such a tragic situation, it is very difficult to understand what has happened. It is very sad…we have lost someone who was very talented.”Aamir was also asked why more celebrities did not show up at the funeral. He responded and said that they all might have their reasons but said that Nitin “has a special place in everyone’s heart.”

After passing out of JJ School of Art, Nitin Desai started his career as a fourth assistant director on the television series Tamas. After that, he worked as a production designer on several films like 1942: A Love Story, Salaam Bombay, Devdas, Lagaan, Slumdog Millionaire, Khamoshi as well as Kaun Banega Crorepati. In 2003, he turned producer with Desh Devi Maa Ashapura. In his long and successful career, Nitin bagged four National Awards for his work.

Nitin Desai’s Death Is Being Investigated

Nitin’s body was found hanging in his ND studio in Karjat on Wednesday. The cops stated that prima facia it appeared to be a case of suicide. His company ND Art World Pvt. Ltd. borrowed 185 crores via two different loans from ECL Finance, a part of the Edelweiss Group, in the years 2016 and 2018. The issues with the payments started in 2020 from Nitin’s side. Reportedly, Nitin also left a voice note talking about the entire issue.
