Aamir Khan has resumed shooting for his highly anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par in Vadodara, Gujarat. The five-day shoot, running from January 21 to 25, has got fans even more excited about the film.
About The Film
This is the spiritual sequel to Aamir’s 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, which touched hearts with its portrayal of a young boy dealing with dyslexia. However, Sitaare Zameen Par promises a different vibe, mixing humour with a similar theme of overcoming challenges and embracing diversity.
Directed by R. S. Prasanna and produced by Aamir and Kiran Rao, the film has been generating a lot of buzz. Aamir, known for his dedication to his projects, has already shared his thoughts on the film.
Aamir Khan Called Sitaare Zameen Par ‘A Beautiful Story’
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, he described Sitaare Zameen Par as a “beautiful story” with a lighter tone compared to the first film. “The easiest way I can describe it is that Taare Zameen Par is a very emotional film which makes you cry. Sitaare Zameen Par makes you laugh, it’s a humorous film. The theme is similar, of people with different abilities, different intelligence, or with different challenges. But it’s humour as opposed to emotions,” Aamir said.
He added that this film takes the message of inclusivity further. “In many ways, I feel it’s way ahead of Taare Zameen Par. In Taare Zameen Par, the person who was with the challenge in the film, Ishaan, was helped by my character. In Sitaare Zameen Par, it’s the ten people with challenges, they help me, the supposedly normal person. So I feel it goes much further. I hope it turns out well.”
While Taare Zameen Par earned praise for Aamir’s portrayal of a teacher who understood his student’s learning difficulties, the sequel will explore how people with disabilities can have a positive impact on others.
Sitaare Zameen Par is set for release on December 25 and stars Genelia Deshmukh in a significant role.
