Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par has 10 specially-abled characters chasing their Paralympic dreams. Read to know more!

Aamir Khan is back after a lengthy break from films. He’s returning with Sitaare Zameen Par, which follows the emotional tone of his 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par. But this time, the story goes even deeper.

Directed by RS Prasanna, the film reportedly hits cinemas on June 20. Aamir plays a troubled coach who trains a group of specially-abled kids. Their goal is to reach the Paralympics.

Aamir Khan On Sitaare Zameen Par

Speaking to journalist Subhash K Jha, Aamir revealed something special. He said, “There are ten protagonists, some with Down Syndrome, some Autistic, some with multiple challenges. Along the spectrum.”

Each of these roles is played by real-life specially-abled actors. This makes the film a rare and bold step in mainstream Bollywood. Aamir is known for picking stories that carry meaning. He’s using this project to bring attention to real lives and untold stories.

The film, much like Taare Zameen Par, talks about hope, struggles, and dreams. Aamir believes this one is ahead of his 2007 film, both in the story and in the way it’s told.

Darsheel Safary (who won hearts in Taare Zameen Par) joins the cast once again. Genelia Deshmukh also plays a key role. Together with Aamir, they bring warmth and honesty to the story.

Trailer Of The Film Drops Soon

Earlier, Aamir planned to release the film on 30 May. But reports suggest that he moved the date to 20 June to give the film a clearer run at the box office. It avoids major competition and gives more space to connect with the audience.

A source shared that the team has finalised the marketing plan. The trailer is expected to be played in theatres on May 1, along with Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2. Sources said that their goal is to reach the right audience in the right way.

Aamir also has more projects in the pipeline. He’s talking to Rajkumar Santoshi for a comedy and to Lokesh Kanagaraj for a superhero film. He’s also producing Sunny Deol starrer Lahore 1947, which will release later in 2025.
