Aamir Khan is prepping for his big comeback after a long break from acting. He is ready to return to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par. As per the latest reports, the film will hit cinemas on June 20. Aamir chose this date for a clear reason.
Sitaare Zameen Par Locks June Release For THIS Reason
The team first thought about releasing it on May 30. But they moved it to June 20 to enjoy a two-week solo run at the box office. No major films are releasing during that time, giving Sitaare Zameen Par a smooth release window.
A source quoted by Pinkvilla shared, “Aamir is looking to capitalise on the open run in the month of June. Initially, he was contemplating to arrive on May 30, but a June 20 release is giving him a two-week clear run at the box office.”
RS Prasanna has directed this film, which is a slice-of-life sports dramedy. The film mixes fun, emotions, and drama & Aamir’s fans will truly enjoy it. The source also shared that Aamir has already locked the final edit. Now, he’s focusing on the film’s marketing.
The source added, “Aamir strongly believes in the content of Sitaare Zameen Par, as it rides on his formula of laughter-emotion-drama. He was looking for a good window and has found one with a June 20 release. The entire marketing plan of this social dramedy is locked.”
Trailer Expected To Drop In The Coming Days
It is being said that the trailer will launch soon, probably in two weeks. The team plans to attach it to Raid 2, starring Ajay Devgn, which hits cinemas on May 1. The idea is to show the trailer to a wide cinema audience.
The source explained, “The trailer is locked and Aamir is targeting to attach the trailer to Raid 2. The idea is to communicate the date directly to the cinema-going audience, and Raid 2 is a film which is expected to do well at the box office. This is his plan at the moment, but knowing Aamir, there could be last-minute changes too.”
Besides this, Aamir is also in talks with Rajkumar Santoshi for a comedy and with Lokesh Kanagaraj for a superhero movie. He’s expected to finalise his next acting project in a month. Meanwhile, he’s producing Lahore 1947 with Sunny Deol, which will release in the second half of 2025.
