Varun Dhawan is stepping back into his comedy zone as he teams up once again with his dad David Dhawan for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. After delivering laugh riots like Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2, the father-son duo is back with another fun-filled film.
The team has already completed more than half of the shoot. Now, they’re heading to Scotland for a 30-day schedule starting April 22.

A source close to the project spoke to Pinkvilla about this exciting international leg. The source said, “It’s a big 30-day schedule, which consolidates the multi-genre elements of a David Dhawan film. Varun and team are excited for this big international leg, which brings in a fresh vibe to the comic caper.”
Scotland will host some of the most crucial parts of the film. The team will shoot an intense chase sequence and a bunch of high-energy scenes featuring multiple characters. This schedule marks the final big lap of the shoot. After that, only a couple of songs and some minor patchwork will be left.

The cast lineup is massive. Along with Varun, the film stars Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in the lead. The ensemble also includes Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy, Chunkey Panday, Rakesh Bedi, and Ali Asgar. The film promises big moments and lively interactions on screen with such a strong cast onboard.
Varun will bring back his trademark comic timing in this film. Fans will also see him dance to some classic-style desi tracks. Insiders revealed that the music will carry the classic David Dhawan flavour, filled with nostalgia and energy.
Ramesh Taurani is producing this film under the TIPS banner. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is currently one of the most awaited projects in Varun’s slate.
Once he finishes this film, he’ll start work on Border 2. He also has No Entry 2 lined up with Anees Bazmee. Besides that, he’s in talks with Karan Johar and Dinesh Vijan for future projects.
