Aamir Khan is making a massive comeback with Sitaare Zameen Par, his first film since Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022. Returning to the big screen in a film billed as the spiritual sequel to his 2007 classic, Taare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan is back in the headlines once again with news that, this time, he’s joining hands with one of India’s largest multiplex chains.
With PVR INOX’s expansive screen network behind it, Sitaare Zameen Par is primed to strike a chord in every box-office circuit, from the metros to the heartlands. Their expansive network and market reach will ensure that the film gets prominent placement and visibility across the country.
As per the report, PVR INOX Pictures has signed on to distribute Sitaare Zameen Par, while the trailer will also be screened in PVR INOX cinemas across India starting May 1.
The Aamir Khan – PVR INOX Association Comes Full Circle
Aamir Khan‘s ties to PVR INOX go deeper than distribution. The film was also produced in 2007, co-produced with PVR Pictures, along with his own Aamir Khan Productions. Now, almost 20 years later, it looks like Sitaare Zameen Par is following suit.
A source close to the story stated that on Aamir Khan’s 60th birthday, PVR INOX organised a special festival screening of his memorable films in cinemas across the country and also featured Aamir Khan on the stage in a conversation with Javed Akhtar at PVR Juhu, reaffirming the goodwill and mutual respect between the star and the brand.
This renewed alliance between Aamir Khan Productions and PVR INOX Pictures isn’t just symbolic — it’s a strategic move that ensures the film gets premium placement and wide reach across India’s top multiplex chains.
About the Trailer and the Digital Release
With a duration of 3 minutes 29 seconds, the trailer is U/A certified by CBFC ahead of its cinema release on May 1 but is likely to premiere digitally a day earlier on April 30.
The rollout strategy is an interesting one, planned to build hype for the theatrical release of Sitaare Zameen Par, which is scheduled for June 20, 2025.
What We Know So Far About Sitaare Zameen Par
A spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par, the film will hopefully continue with themes of childhood, hope, and emotional healing—while telling a story of its own with a fresh cast. Very little is known about the story, but Khan’s creativity has lifted the bar of anticipation.
Now with PVR INOX Pictures, with a planned high-impact trailer campaign and with a name of legacy, Sitaare Zameen Par could very well be one of 2025’s most talked-about projects.
