Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan has shared his thoughts about his dream project, Mahabharata. In a recent interview, he spoke about his long-standing wish to make a film on the Indian epic.
Although the idea has been close to his heart for years, Aamir admitted he is hesitant to begin due to the massive scale and cultural significance of the story.
Aamir Khan Is ‘Scared’ Of Working On This Dream Project
Speaking to BBC, Aamir said, “My dream project is the Mahabharata. But it’s a very scary project. It’s so huge, and I’m scared of getting it wrong. It’s a big responsibility, and as Indians, it’s something so close to our heart; it’s in our blood.”
While he is dedicated to filmmaking, Mahabharata holds a special place for Aamir. The project is not just about filmmaking but also about honouring an epic that resonates with generations of Indians.
“I want to get it right; I want to make every Indian proud,” Aamir stated. “I also want to show the world what India has. So I don’t know whether it will happen, but it is something I really want to work towards. Let’s see.”
Creating a film on the Mahabharata is a huge responsibility, and Aamir acknowledges the challenges of adapting such an iconic story.
Aamir On His Future Acting Plans
Known for taking on projects carefully, Aamir also spoke about his plans for the next chapter of his career. Currently, he works on one film every two to three years, but he is looking to speed things up.
“I really want to produce a lot more films and give opportunities to young talent, and I guess I’ll continue acting,” he said.
The actor revealed, “In the next decade or so, I’m hoping to do one film a year and produce a lot more films with stories that I love.”
