Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and acclaimed producer Dinesh Vijan are reportedly joining hands to produce a biopic on Indian special prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. The biopic will chronicle Nikam’s journey, including his role in high-profile cases such as the 1993 Mumbai blasts and the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
While initial reports suggested that Aamir Khan was considering acting in the biopic, he is now attached solely as a producer. This collaboration marks the latest addition to Aamir Khan’s growing list of producer credits, which includes upcoming films such as The Champions Remake, Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey Remake, and Pritam Pyaare.
Aamir Khan Might Act In The Biopic Too
The report also said that the Laal Singh Chaddha actor was considering acting in this biopic. However, now he is attached as a producer. A source told the portal, “Aamir was introduced to the journey of Ujjwal Nikam in the pre-pandemic times and he has been interested in bringing it to the spectacle ever since then. There have been several drafts of scripts written by multiple producer partners, but after all the discussions, Aamir is now on the verge of locking his association with Dinesh Vijan on the Ujjwal Nikam Biopic.”

The casting is underway and the hunt of a director is also in the works. “The idea is to take it on floors in 2024 and the casting calls are expected to roll out from year-end. While Aamir was definitely considering to lead the biopic himself, one can’t say if it’s a film starring Aamir Khan or a production with another actor stepping in to play the lead at this point in time,” the source continued.
The actor is now on board to produce as many as five films. Aamir Khan was reportedly introduced to Ujjwal Nikam’s story before the pandemic and was inspired to bring it to the big screen. The biopic is expected to be a blockbuster, given the popularity of both Aamir Khan and Dinesh Vijan in the Indian film industry.
