June marks a significant milestone for Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor as they prepare to step onto the set of their debut film, helmed by director Advait Chandan.
The upcoming project, yet to be titled, is an adaptation of the Tamil romantic comedy Love Today (2022), originally scheduled to commence filming in April but delayed due to extended pre-production work.
Junaid Khan And Khushi Kapoor’s Film To Begin Shooting From June In Mumbai
According to insider reports shared by Mid-day, Advait Chandan meticulously planned the film’s pre-production, including scouting locations and finalising the cast for secondary roles. With these preparations now complete, the production is all set to kick off its first leg in Mumbai.
The source stated, “Advait has done exhaustive pre-production on the film. He has been locking locations over the past month. Now with the casting of secondary characters finalised, the film is ready to start. The first leg will be shot in Mumbai.”
Aamir Khan’s IS Supervising The Project
As Junaid Khan is expected to debut in films, his father and renowned actor-producer Aamir Khan is taking care of the project. Amidst his own commitments, including shooting for Sitaare Zameen Par with director RS Prasanna, Aamir Khan dedicates time to oversee the progress of the rom-com.
Sources reveal that Aamir Khan, recently spotted at a Powai five-star venue for filming, managed to multitask, attending to final details of Junaid’s project while balancing other productions, such as Lahore 1947.
“On Sunday, Aamir was shooting at a Powai five-star. He was juggling it with Junaid’s project, as he locked some final details of the latter. With his other production, Lahore 1947, also underway, Aamir is ensuring that his banner doles out more films,” the source added.
Junaid Khan’s Another Film Maharaj
Junaid Khan has another project in his repertoire called Maharaj, set to release on Netflix. Produced by Yash Raj Entertainment, the film’s poster and a sneak peek into its world were unveiled in February 2024.

Featuring Jaideep Ahlawat, Sharvari, and Shalini Pandey, Maharaj is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, known for his work on Hichki.
The film’s storyline revolves around true events, depicting a David vs. Goliath scenario set in the 1800s. It follows a journalist who challenges a revered figure in society, aiming to expose incidents that shake the community’s foundation. This period drama celebrates humanity’s resilience, emphasizing the pursuit of truth and justice, highlighting the power of one individual’s determination to instigate positive social change.
