Director Om Raut’s Adipurush starring Prabhas has become the talk of the town ever since the film was announced. Presented by Bhushan Kumar Adipurush is an epic 3D action-drama that revolves around the triumph of good over evil.
It was earlier reported that Prabhas will be seen playing the character of Lord Ram and will be training in ancient forms of action, including sword fights and archery. Saif Ali Khan has also come on board to play the antagonist, Lankesh aka Ravana, the King of Lanka.
While there were a lot of speculations about Sita’s character, names like Anushka Shetty, Anushka Sharma, Kiara Advani and Keerthy Suresh were floating around. Now according to the reports, Kriti Sanon has been finally roped in for the film.
“After considering several top names, from both the Hindi and Telugu industries, they decided on Kriti. She will play the character with grace and dignity,” a source was quoted as saying.
It was also reported that the film will go on the floors in January next year with a start-to-finish schedule. The film will mostly be shot in-studio in front of chroma screen.
“Om and Bhushan have been talking to VFX technicians of international repute, who have worked on films like Avatar and Star Wars, to make the shooting process smooth and mount the film on a certain scale,” the source added.
“Playing Sita is an opportunity of a lifetime for her, and she immediately came on board. She will be juggling multiple films in the first quarter of 2021,” the source concluded.
Meanwhile, Kriti is busy shooting Hum Do Hamare Do along with Rajkummar Rao in Chandigarh. Post that she will head to Akshay Kumar-fronted Bachchan Pandey from January.
It was also reported that the actress has also signed a horror-comedy, Bhediya, alongside Varun Dhawan.
